Separation of anammox bacteria

Wastewater is polluted with organic and inorganic compounds. Instead of a traditional two-stage reactor system for wastewater clarification, research is being conducted on the use of so-called annamox bacteria. Due to the slow growth rate, it is critical to monitor the concentration of the organism throughout the process. However, the sludge used in the process contains various bacteria. Therefore, a method is needed to separate and identify the microorganism of interest.
In this whitepaper, we describe a method for bacteria separation.
