The Sphericalplate 5D (SP5D) is a 3D cell culture plate designed to produce uniform, standardized spheroids with high quality and yield. It allows effortless scaling and application in diagnostic or clinical settings. The reproducibility of follow-up tests is enhanced because experiments always start with identical initial conditions, thanks to the low size variance of the spheroids. 

The patented geometry with special coating ensures that each cell integrates into a 3D agglomerate in a controlled manner, resulting in uniformly sized spheroids without necrotic cores. Depending on the size and scale of your experiments, you can choose between our 24-well plate or 6-well plate. 

For small batches, we recommend the 24-well plate, which contains 12 wells with 750 microwells each, yielding up to 9,000 uniform spheroids. The remaining 12 wells can be used for monolayer comparative studies. 

The 6-well plate is ideal for scale-up trials and larger batches, producing 3,364 spheroids per well, for a total yield of 20,184 spheroids per plate. 

The ready-to-use SP5D is particularly user-friendly: it requires no pretreatment or centrifugation steps after seeding your cells. Media changes are convenient due to simple pipetting, as the height of the microwells retains the cell clusters. Additionally, the platform is compatible with standard automation units.
