Phase separation often occurs after extraction of plant material. Fats, waxes and other heavy components separate from the more volatile components. For further processing, however, a homogeneous product is required. The recombining of the fractions can be carried out efficiently with an overhead stirrer.
A manufacturer of plant extract products from San Diego, OutCo, uses a Hei-TORQUE Ultimate 200 for reconstitution. The extract is homogenized for five minutes at 250 rpm, then three minutes at 1250 rpm.
