The Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is one of the most widely used test formats for the presence and concentration of certain proteins (e.g. antibodies) in a sample. The concentration of the target protein is determined by an enzymatic color reaction.

In ELISA, the cavities (wells) of a multi-well plate are coated with the corresponding antigen to which the antibodies to be detected can bind. The individual wells are successively treated and incubated with sample, control and substrate solutions during the ELISA protocol. In between, washing steps with washing buffer are carried out in order to exclude interfering signals in the photometric determination and incorrect results.

When washing, a powerful vortex shake movement is important in the individual cavities of the multi-well plate. Powerful shakers therefore play an essential role in the ELISA's workflow. Specialized in this, Heidolph Instruments offers two multi-well plate shakers, the Titramax 100 and 1000, which are ideally suited for this task.

Titramax 100

  • Space for 4 plates multi-well plates

  • Even vortex movement in every single well

  • Vigorous shaking guarantees reliable results of washing steps

Titramax 1000

  • Space for 6 plates multi-well plates

  • Even vortex movement in every single well

  • Vigorous shaking guarantees reliable results even in the incubator
